agt rural telephone exchange . notes
This replica building is typical of the AGT telephone exchanges across the provinces. Their quaint cottage like bungalow design was the trend in the 1920s.
The exchange usually contained three major areas such as a public reception area where a public phone was provided and business with AGT was transacted. The other areas were the administration and switchboard area, and the equipment room.
