A.G.T. Rural Telephone Exchange - 76

2012       Fort Main Gate

This replica building is typical of the AGT telephone exchanges across the provinces. Their quaint cottage like bungalow design was the trend in the 1920s.

2001 The exchange usually contained three major areas such as a public reception area where a public phone was provided and business with AGT was transacted. The other areas were the administration and switchboard area, and the equipment room.
